Envigreen Bags Are Nature Friendly and Biodegradable Plastic Bags – Discover Food Tech
Nowadays most of the people are talking about environmental pollution. We are more prone to make debates on the pollution. All the time we blame others for causing damage to nature. But how many of us take the things seriously? How many of us really worried about preserving our mother nature? Before the things become worse we should come forward to make the earth a better place to live. Many scientists are now coming up with great innovations in this regard. The best thing is we can actively take part in it. All we need to do is to bring about changes in our daily habits.
A new startup has now come up with a revolutionary idea which aims at reducing the use of plastics. Plastic plays a major role in our day to day life. We use it to carry things or in other things. But we become ignorant about the environmental impacts of plastic. Plastics come from the chemical compounds which are not degradable naturally and contribute largely to the pollution. So while thinking about an alternative to it we need to think about plastic like bags which are biodegradable.
Envigreen Biotech India Private Ltd has come up with organic biodegradable plastic bags which are made from starch. We may not believe but it’s true. Ashwath Hegde, a Mangalore-born but now Qatar-based NRI entrepreneur is the man behind Envigreen. This idea came to his mind in 2012 when the Government put a ban on the use of plastic.

During that period there was no preplanned alternative to it and the sudden decision hampered the daily life of people. It also affected the economy of the people as one can not buy bags worth 5/- to bring something all the time. So the quest of the alternative to plastic gave birth to Envigreen. The bags are from vegetable waste hence they are non-toxic and has no impact on the environment.
WHAT MAKE UP THE BAG
The plastic looking carry bags come from natural starch and vegetable oil derivatives. The manufacturing method is also different from that of plastics. They use many ingredients ranging from 12 to 14. It generally comes from vegetable extracts which are a major source of starch. Others such as potato, tapioca, corn, banana, starch and flower oils also include. The process involves six steps and before processing the raw materials liquefied for the ease of processing. To prove its complete edibility they don’t use any artificial colors. Instead, they use 100% natural organic color. If we will look at the manufacturing cost then we can see some difference. More cost is involved in making the product than plastic bags as it involves some high-cost raw materials.
