The Indian Institute of Food Processing Technology (Formerly Indian Institute of Crop Processing Technology) (IIFPT) is a pioneer Educational and R&D Institution under the Ministry of Food Processing Industries. The IIFPT is located on a 15-acre campus located at a distance of 2 km from Thanjavur New Bustand.

IIFPT offers Degrees in Btech, Mtech And Ph.d for Food Process Engineering and Food Science And Technology.

Post Graduation Degrees :

1.M. Tech (Food Process Engineering)

2.M. Tech (Food Science and Technology)

M. Tech (Food Process Engineering)
The program is on full time and regular basis
Duration:
Two years/ 6 trimester program
Eligibility:
1.Should have passed a four year B. E./B. Tech degree in any of the following discipline like Food Process Engineering / Agricultural Engineering /Agricultural and Food Engineering / Food Technology and Management / Food Processing and Preservation Technology / Food Technology/Dairy Engineering / Chemical Engineering.
2.A candidate who has undergone course credit system with a minimum OGPA of 3.00 out of 4.00 or 7.00 out of 10 or 70% aggregate alone is eligible to apply. However for SC/ST candidates a pass in the qualifying degree is sufficient.
Selection Criteria:
1.Selection is based purely on merit basis only
2.Ranking will be done based on undergraduate marks and short written test followed by oral interview marks
3.Reservation policy based on government norms
Number of Seats:
15 numbers in total for all India level

M. Tech (Food Science and Technology)
The program is on full time and regular basis
Duration:
Two years/6 trimester program
Eligibility:
1.Should have passed a 4 year Bachelor’s degree in any of the following discipline like Food Process Engg/Agricultural Engg /Food Science and Technology/Home Science / Food Science and Nutrition / Food Science and Quality Control /Dairy Technology / Food Technology and Management / Food Processing and Preservation Technology/Biotechnology.
2.A candidate who has undergone course credit system with a minimum OGPA of 3.00 out of 4.00 or 7.00 out of 10 or 70% aggregate alone is eligible to apply. However for SC/ST candidates a pass in the qualifying degree is sufficient.

Four years/8 semester programme
Eligibility:
Only those candidates who have appeared in JEE (Main)-2017 (Paper-1) will be eligible for getting admission at IIFPT.
Selection Criteria:
1.Candidates shall be offered admission based on All India Rank of JEE (Main)-2017 through a Institute counselling system. Candidates have to submit an online application form. Candidates are advised to regularly visit the IIFPT website: IIFPT for latest information.

Three years/9 trimester program
Eligibility:
1.Should have passed a four year bachelors and a 2 years M.E./M.Tech degree in any of the following discipline like Food Process Engineering /Post Harvest Technology / Agricultural and Food Engineering / Agricultural Process Engineering / Dairy and Food Engineering / Chemical Engineering/Food Science and Technology.
2.A candidate who has undergone course credit system with a minimum OGPA of 3.00 out of 4.00 or 7.00 out of 10 or 70% aggregate alone is eligible to apply. However for SC/ST candidates a pass in the qualifying degree is sufficient.
